Obama Gossip - Economists Blast Obama And Mccain’s Insurance Plan
Top economists reviewed McCain and Obama's health insurance plan proposals, and their verdict is that neither will work. The economists say neither plan will do Americans any good, this is reported by the Associated Press and The Washington Times.
Economists estimate that, under McCain's reform plan, about 20 million workers would be edged out of the employer based health insurance system. McCain's plan encourages individual health insurance to be purchased across state line, resulting in 21 million being able to get coverage.
The critique says that the $2500-$5000 tax credits that McCain will provide will not offer savings because when the premiums increase and coverage is lowered, Americans won't be able to get ahead. Economists basically concluded that McCain's plan would not help reduce the uninsured Americans numbers.
The three economists grading the plans say that Obama's plan is not any better. His plan that required employers to provide employees with health care, would be costly to the government, and probably quicken inflation.
Because the Illinois Senator would require businesses to provide health benefits for workers, it would result in job loss or pay cuts. We're thinking the reports were a bit cynical. But what do we know compared to the experts?
